The Pulse of Entertainment: Rock's Lukas Rossi Goes Light with ‘Summertime' Single and Music Video

(August 14, 2020) - "They're friends of mine that I met throughout my life. Every single person is a big part of making me who I am today," said Rock star Lukas Rossi about the massive 82 cameo appearances in his music video for the title track of his new album "Summertime." "I am supper blessed to have them come out in these times."

In 2006 Lukas won Canada's version of American Idol on a reality show on CBS called "Rock Star: Supernova." His Rock vocals, songwriting, production and lead guitar playing raised above all the contestants to garner a win. As the winner of CBS' "Rock Star: Supernova" Rossi went on to form his own Rock band of the same name with him as lead vocalist; Tommy Lee (Motley Crue) on drums; Jason Newsted (Metallica) on bass, and Gilby Clarke (Guns N'Roses) on lead guitar. They toured together and released four albums thus far. It was that year in 2006 that he met his wife Kendra, introduced to him by Tommy Lee. Rossi will be a featured vocalist on Tommy Lee's upcoming solo album "Andro."

Since his 2006 big win Lukas Rossi has been collaborating with many musicians and bands, as well as releasing his own solo projects. "Summertime" is a change of pace for Rossi, as he says, because, "I want to show a different side of me. I'm not too serious all the time."

Rossi said up until this album his music had been serious - kind of dark.

"I got stuck in that mood. I wrote this record a year ago. Most of my music in the past is dark Rock," he explained about what we will expect to hear on the project. "I needed a vacation from my problems. When I watch the video, it makes me smile."

I agree I smiled do, what an uplifting and "Rockin'" song and music video. Of the 82 cameo appearances you will see Motley Crue's Tommy Lee, Darryl "DMC" McDaniels (RunDMC); his neighbor Jim Kelly; Storm Large and Dilana of Supernova; Joey Fatone (NSYNC), models Crissy, Willow and Kacy; Jared Blake ("The Voice"); actor Paul Schulz ("24"); Barb Sedun at EMI Publishing credit for discovering him; Delious Kennedy (All4One), and so many more.

Lukas started as a vocalist and lead guitarist in 1995 in Toronto, Ontario in a band with his brothers Jon and Bill called Cleavage. They won the "Best Canadian Unsigned Band Award" and immediately signed a label deal with EMI Music. After Lukas won the CBS reality show and became a household name, and member of Supernova they released "It's All Love, Be Yourself" (2006); "Five Other Clichés" in 2006; "Headspin" in 2007, and "Can't Bring Myself to Light This Fuse" in 2007. In 2008 he was a featured vocalist on a "Stars Down" project; debuted his solo "Hollywood" album in 2010; was a featured artist on the band Switch Blade Glory's debut album in 2011; collaborated with The Halo Method in 2012; was a featured vocalist on the single "Neurotic" of Duo King City in 2016, and joined the Stereo Satellite band for their debut in 2018.
