Stellar Award winning Tye Tribbett goes solo with new CD project, ‘Fresh' By Eunice Moseley
"The CD is a lot of trails and errors...a real journey...
the last season of my life," said Grammy nominated Gospel/Inspirational artist Tye Tribbett about his debut solo project
titled "Fresh." "Expect it to be a testament."
A
native of New Jersey Tye is the son of a preacher and choir leader, so it was only natural that he would become one of the
most respected choir directors in Contemporary Gospel music. In the late 90s Tribbett formed the Greater Anointing (G.A.)
choir and by 2000 they were backing Faith Hill on her tour. They released a song, "Let Go, Let God," which appeared
on the "Prince of Egypt" compilation CD.
Tye Tribbett
and G.A. went on to perform with Will Smith, Usher and Mary Mary. In 2004 they released "Life," 2006 "Victory"
and in 2008 "Stand Out" on Columbia/Sony Gospel. Along the way they garnered a Stellar Award and a Grammy Award
nomination. "The concept God gave me...sharing God's grace," Tye said about his solo project. Then he added
something on a personal note, "I took a sabbatical last year. I got out of line with my life and family."
Tribbett pointed out that his new CD is about "no shame." As per the name of
the album, "Fresh," Tye said, "We can all start fresh." Fresh is what this project sounds like, something
totally different from the Greater Anointing sound. The current single off the "Fresh" project is "Keep Me."
Stellar
and Dove Award nominee Mary Alessi is ‘Pressing On' with newest CD project
You could say it was in her blood that Mary Alessi would become one of the leading worship leaders. She was raised in Gospel
music. Her twin sister is Stellar Award winner Martha Munizzi, another inspirational worship leader. Recently Alessi released
her fourth CD project titled "Pressing On" (Miami Life Sound Records/New Day Christian/Select-O-Hits). "I been singing since I was three years old," recalled Alessi, a Stellar and
Dove Award nominee. "At 15 I knew God was going to use me in a big way and at 25 I heard TD Jakes speak. I remember we
said, ‘TD Jake who?' He preached and everyone stood up. On the way home I realized and was determined that I would never
sing again if I couldn't have that. From there, God started using me." Mary and her husband Stephen Alessi are now pastors of their own church, Metro Life Church, in Miami, Florida. Her
music ministry has given her the opportunity to work with Israel Houghton, Aaron Lindsey, Nicole Binion and her sister Martha
Munizzi. Alessi, to me, has a Pop/Rock flavor that carries an uplifting
and inspirational message. My favorite cuts off the "Pressing On" album include "Hope in Me," because
I love the guitar support; "I Love You," a powerful praise song - I also love the harmony and piano support; "I
Surrender All," but don't be fooled by title it's an original, and "I Will Bless the Lord" a sweet love song
of God's grace ad mercy. To learn more about Mary Alessi or her latest
CD project "Pressing On" log onto www.MaryAleesi.com or visit her at www.facebook.com/MaryAlessiMusic.
