Hidden Beach's Naturally 7 featured at 23rd Capital Jazz
Fest June 7, 2015 in Columbia, Maryland
The Hidden Beach Recording group Naturally 7 is riding the wave of success as they finish their third World
Tour with Michael Buble', a performance on "The Today Show," and prepare to perform at the 23rd Capital Jazz Fest
Sunday, June 7, 2015 in Columbia, Maryland.
"We can't complain," said
Roger Thomas, group vocalist and music director. Naturally 7 also includes his brother Warren Thomas (vocals, guitar, percussion,
clarinet), Rod Eldridge (vocals, trumpet), Napoleon "Polo" Cummings (vocals, guitar), Dwight Stewart (vocals, trumpet),
Garfield Buckley (vocals, harmonica), and "Hops" Hutton (bass). "We've been in three world tours with Michael
Buble'. We've traveled to Europe and around the world wherever we wanted to go, and have performed for 6 million people."
Naturally 7 formed in 1999 by Roger and his brother Warren. They enlisted five others to form Naturally 7.
They call their a cappella style of singing "vocal play," and started sharing it at first in their church.
"We started in the Bronx singing in church," Roger said about their humble beginnings. "In
2006 we entered an a cappella competition and a talent agent saw us. He told us to do a showcase. We did it and received 58
shows at one time."
Roger said they had to make a choice cause one of them was in college.
The choice was whether to do music full time. Roger said it was a once in a life time opportunity.
Since
the talent showcase's success Naturally 7 has recorded three duets with Michael Buble', and one duet with Ludacris on a Quincy
Jones project. They performed as special guest with Coldplay, and released their own album/DVD in 2013 "All Natural Live."
This year they released "Hidden In Plain Sight" on Hidden Beach Recordings.
