The Pulse of Entertainment: Gospel's MOGMusic Releases ‘Your Name is Jesus' From His ‘Back to the Basics' Album Slated to Drop in November

(October 13, 2025) - "The current single is ‘Your Name is Jesus.' The album is ‘Back to the Basics'... it has eight songs and drops in November," MOGMusic (real name Nana Yaw Boakye) said when asked.

The Contemporary Gospel artist is from Ghana, but during our interview about his new music he was here in the United States.

I just had to ask about his name MOGMusic, and he told me , "MOGMusic means man of God (music). I'm a pastor."

With a slight laugh he added, "Easy to Google MOGMusic...even for a baby."

About six months ago he released the "Amen" single off the "Back to Basics" (Integrity Music/Integrated Music Rights) project, and the currently single "Your Name is Jesus" was released about a month ago. The singles' music video has already amassed over 60,000 views.

MOGMusic debuted in 2014 with the "New Wine" project. In 2016 he released the "Better Me" album, followed by his "Xperience with Love" album in 2019. In 2020 he released "The Experience" project, followed by "Koinonia" in 2021. Then he released the "Koinonia Phase II" album in 2023. In 2025 he will bless us with his "Back To Basics" project. But, until then we can listen to the new single "Your Name is Jesus."

"This (prayer) is your foundation, " he stressed when talking about the meaning to the title of his album "Back to Basics".

Aside from being a singer/songwriter and pastor, MOGMusic is also head of the music department at Royal House Chapel International. This church has 700 choir members!!!

"It's 13 choirs in one church," MOGMusic pointed out when I asked. "The church has 1500 members."

I asked him how in the world does he manage 13 choirs each week and he said, "I have a team. They (the choirs) have their own music directors and also they have assistant music directors. It takes a system to manager those numbers."

A Ghana powerhouse, MOGMusic has garnered many accolades for his music ministry such as the Vodafone Ghana Music Award nomination for his single "Be Lifted." He released a remix version of the "Be Lifted" single featuring multi-Grammy Award winning Donnie McClurkin. MOGMusic was also honored as "Male Vocalist of the Year" from Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. In 2022 he garnered "Artist of the Year" from Praise Achievement Awards. MOGMusic also hosts his annual "New Wine" concert Praise & Worship series in Ghana.  www.MOGMusicOfficial.com
