(June 23, 2023) - "It's a whole new approach, up to date," said Jazz guitarist Chris Standring about his new single "Liquid Soul" which was originally released in 2008 on his "Love & Paragraphs" album. "I play all the instruments."

What attracted me to the album was the cover, very sultry. It really depicts the title of the new Chris Standring album "The Lovers Remix Collection" (Ultimate Vibe Recordings). The album release is in celebration of 25th years as a solo recording artist.

"All the songs are from...previous releases," he told me. "I put them into the same framework - R&B flavor. R&B is a big part of my sound...laid back."

The various previously released singles originally ranged from Jazz, Soul, Funk, and R&B ballads. The "Lovers Remix Collection" offers 11 selections, with one a new track, a Standring version of Peter Green's "Albatross."

"There were a couple of songs that were really popular," Chris said about how he chose from his pool of already released singles. "I went back to my catalog of popular songs - party tones. I received so many emails about...songs. They are songs of a similar vibe."

When I heard he was playing at a very young age I asked if he was a prodigy kid and he said, "It's more to do with my ears."
