The Pulse of Entertainment: Grammy Nominated Sensere Releases ‘Fred Hammond Presents Sensere...' Featuring
Mali Music, B.Slade, Darlene McCoy and Keyondra Lockett
by Dr. Eunice Moseley
(January 6, 2026) - "I've been at it for a while," said
Grammy Award nominated drummer/producer James "Jdubb" Wright, who just released a new
album with his band Sensere titled "Fred Hammond Presents Sensere: The Soul of
Future Worship (Vol. 2)," when I asked.
He has been a musician since the age of 12 and I asked what keeps him
going and he said, "My faith in God and in what He showed me....the assignment for this group."
The group that James is
referring to is his band Sensere. The Gospel group launched in 2003. In 2008 they formed a partnership with Eddie Pugh. In
2011 they debuted with "The Soul of Future Worship (Vol 1)". Their sophomore album "Kingdom Therapy" was
released in 2015. "Kingdom Therapy" reached #13 on Billboard's Charts. In 2019 they released their third project
"God, Family, The Band (Vol. 1)" featuring Anesha Birchett and Lisa Knowles. That same year they released their
first Christmas album "Sensere Christmas." The group's fourth album "The Soul of Future Worship (Vol. 2)"
was released at the end of 2025 which has the public support of Grammy Award winning Fred Hammond.
Sensere released a Christmas
single "Joy & Peace" featuring Adolphus in November 2025.
"I'm a lover of Christmas and the holidays, but
it's hard for me to do music for it....it's so short lived," James pointed out when discussing the new single "Joy
& Peace." "My manager was behind the Christmas single...the album had just come out, and Christmas is (normally)
my off time. But he said, ‘Last Christmas album was in 2019."

"Joy
& Peace" proceeded their latest album release "Fred Hammond presents Sensere: The Soul of Future Worship (Vol.
2)." Though a Contemporary Gospel band Sensere infuses R&B, Funk and Soul into their style. All Florida natives,
the band is led by James Wright and has been compared to the Gospel group Commission and the band Mint Condition.
"Fred,
he was an admire of the group. He said we...reminded him of his days with Commission," Wright told me when I asked how
the band got involved with Hammond. "I asked him to be a featured artist on a project with us....but he said he couldn't
(at the time) but wanted to put us on."
Fred then listened to the new project and replied to James.
"He texted me back,"
James recalled. "...and said this stuff is really really good and with his help...we made it better. That's when I asked
if we could put his name on it. He was open to it and he said, ‘Absolutely!"
"Uncle Fred doesn't (normally)
do that," James continued. "Not for those that are not signed to his label. So, that meant a lot to me."
Sensere currently
has 12 members - Wright, Brian Williams (lead vocals), Levi Knowles (lead vocals), Zach Sanders (lead vocals), Chris Fellner
(drums), Jaquan Hunter (bass), Tre'Von Watson (keyboard), Brasen White (music director), Darryl Efford (trumpet), Pernell
Ponder (drummer. Vocalist), Corey Jones, and Joshua Bob.
"Members changed. I had a stable bunch of guys before the pandemic
(Covid)," Wright told me when I asked. "During the pandemic there was no work...some started shifting their lives.
Some no longer live in Florida and others stop doing music full-time. Some started online businesses that are thriving!"
"It's
been five years with the new members," he added.
Sensere performed in shows that included Mary J. Blige, Kenny G, Marvin
Sapp (formerly of Commissioned), and Patti LaBelle. The first single they released from the new project, "That's God...LaLaLa,"
has garnered 93,000 YouTube views for its music video, and reached #2 on Billboard Charts and #1 on Mediabase. The "Fred
Hammond Presents Sensere: The Soul of Future Worship (Vol. 2)" album is the band's fourth project. It was released on
the Tribl Records/Wright Sound Music & Entertainment imprint. The project is produced by James "Jdubb" Wright.
