The Pulse of Entertainment: A Review/The Robin Simone Hollywood
Orchestra's Vibrato Show Belongs on Broadway or a Residency in Vegas (April 17, 2026) - "Wow, such a range," said someone behind
me as I watched The Robin Simone Hollywood Orchestra recently at the Vibrato Jazz Restaurant in
Bel-Air, California, the Jazz club of 8-time Jazz musician Herb Alpert ("This Guys in Love with You"). I have seen
three-time Billboard chart-topping The Robin Simone Hollywood Orchestra show before and I told the owner's wife as I was leaving
the restaurant that they gave a million-dollar show. Well, they topped that this time - imagine that! I left thinking they
need a residency in Vegas. Then I thought, because of all of their animated performances, that they should be on Broadway! The Robin
Simone Orchestra, which includes a very animated director, performed an array of hit songs from well-known Broadway shows
and music soundtracks. In between each song Robin connected with the full-house audience, getting suggestions from them for
songs she should perform, or she would introduce the members of her 18-piece band after each gave a solo performance. Each
musician's skills were amazing, and they were animated too and contributed verbally to the narrative that Simone brought to
the show. "She is funny and entertaining," said someone sitting at a table next to me. The live
performance video for their latest self-title album via the Pictureque Records has accumulated over two million views! The
Robin Simone Hollywood Orchestra has a horn, pianist, standup bass, drummer, guitar, other string and more (I just couldn't
see them all, there were so many on stage!) Simone, in showing her vocal range, also showed she can scat or rap, as we call
it now. Robin performed with amazing vocal skill the hits of Whitney Houston, Roberta Flack, Aretha Franklin, Barbra Streisand,
and Nina Simone. As well as hits from Waiting to Exhale, the Pink Panther, Porky and Bess, and Lady Sings the Blues. "Breathtaking,"
said someone in the crowd after Robin performed Whitney's "I Will Always Love You." www.RSho.biz SYNDICATED
